Parent company of Assault Fitness and RPM Training files for bankruptcy protection

FitLab, the Newport Beach, California-based parent company of several well-known fitness brands, has filed for bankruptcy protection through a Chapter 11 procedure. The company held a broad portfolio, ranging from Assault Fitness and RPM Training to running events such as Ragnar Relay.
The problems had been visible for some time. Customers had been complaining for a while about orders for Assault Fitness equipment that were never delivered, and RPM Training previously announced changes to its production process.
Assault Fitness makes the widely recognized Assault AirBike, a machine found in many CrossFit boxes around the world and regularly used in Hyrox training as well. Whether the production and delivery of this equipment will continue under the bankruptcy procedure remains unclear for now.
The key question is what this means for boxes and athletes who have an outstanding order or rely on parts and service from these brands.
