Alyssa McElheny crowned Hyrox world champion in Elite 15 Women

Sweden hosted the finale of the Elite 15 Hyrox World Championships, the pinnacle of the sport, preceded by seven qualifying events held around the globe. Only the world's top fifteen women were eligible to compete, making for an exceptionally strong field.
The heavy favourite was Lauren Weeks, a three-time world champion and the clear woman to beat in Sweden. Yet it was Alyssa McElheny who ultimately proved the strongest, seizing the title for herself.
McElheny brings a rich running background to the sport, with experience across a wide range of distances, from the 800 metres to the marathon, including the steeplechase. That versatility proved to be a decisive asset on the Hyrox course, where both endurance and explosivity are rewarded.
With this victory, McElheny writes her name into Hyrox history and makes it clear that Weeks' dominance can no longer be taken for granted. It is a strong signal that the women's elite field is becoming ever more competitive and unpredictable at the very top.
