Wodapalooza SoCal takes on a special format this year. Instead of a classic individual tournament, the event features a so-called Battle of the Camps, in which renowned CrossFit training centers go head-to-head on Huntington Beach.

The competing parties are Brute Strength, PRVN Fitness and Training Think Tank, three of the most well-known names in the elite CrossFit world. A group of so-called Outcasts also takes part, a collection of individual athletes who together form one camp.

The teams work their way through eleven workouts in varying formats. These include all-hands events, Miami-style teams of three, and formats resembling the CrossFit Games team competition, supplemented by individual events.

For Dutch CrossFit fans, this is interesting because many top athletes from the international scene are affiliated with one of these camps. The results may also shed light on which training philosophy is currently strongest in the elite world.
