Bill Leahy receives invitation to WFP Finals despite ranking 31st on the leaderboard

Bill Leahy has announced via Instagram that he has accepted an invitation to the World Fitness Finals this December. Notably, Leahy finished 31st on the season leaderboard, while normally only the top thirty athletes qualify.

That means someone else gave up their spot. It has not yet been officially confirmed who dropped out, but Leahy's spot could only become available because a qualified athlete withdrew.

The World Fitness Finals is one of the bigger year-end events in the CrossFit world. For fans following the start list, it is now a matter of waiting to see who will ultimately line up alongside Leahy in December.
