CrossFitters Shine at 2026 HYROX World Championships in Stockholm

Last weekend, the Swedish capital Stockholm played host to the 2026 HYROX World Championships. The Strawberry Arena provided the backdrop for an impressive field of competitors, featuring big names from both the HYROX and CrossFit worlds.

A standout feature of this year's edition was the strong presence of athletes with a CrossFit background. A total of fourteen competitors have been, or still are, active in CrossFit, underscoring how the two sports are increasingly converging.

Names such as Weeks, Wietrzyk, McElheny, Rončević, Wenisch, McIntyre and Scott were among the headline athletes on the start line. The combination of functional strength and endurance that defines CrossFit appears to translate seamlessly to the demands HYROX places on its competitors.

For Dutch CrossFit and HYROX fans, this is a compelling development. The growing number of CrossFitters on HYROX's biggest stage makes it clear that serious CrossFit athletes are increasingly spotting their opportunity in HYROX competition.
