Hybrid Games deep in the red: over £500,000 in debt at time of insolvency filing

The Hybrid Games, the well-known crossover event combining CrossFit and Hyrox elements, has been through a turbulent period. Insolvency documents filed at Companies House in early April 2026 reveal that the company HGE2026 Ltd, formerly The Hybrid Games Events Limited, had accumulated debts of more than £500,000 under its previous owners.
The filing, known as a Statement of Affairs, paints a detailed picture of the financial position left behind by the previous ownership, laying bare the significant liabilities now coming to light as the event moves forward under new leadership.
Meanwhile, the new management appears determined to make a fresh start. Work is underway on a new brand identity and a revamped event concept, though the legacy of the previous organisation looms large over those plans.
For Hyrox fans with an interest in hybrid events, the news serves as a reminder of just how fragile the market for these competitions remains, even as the popularity of hybrid fitness formats continues to grow across Europe.
