Hyrox China surprises finishers with blind medal bags per city

Hyrox China is introducing a new concept for finishers this year: everyone who crosses the finish line receives a sealed bag containing a medal. Which medal is inside only becomes clear once you open the bag.

The medals are city-specific and each feature one of the well-known Hyrox stations. Designs have already been revealed for cities including Shenzhen, Chengdu and Shanghai.

Finishers have no say in which medal they receive, giving the concept a collectible element. Anyone who wants to collect all stations will need to run multiple races or trade with other participants.

For Dutch Hyrox fans, this is a notable development. It shows that the organisation is experimenting in various countries with ways to make the finisher experience more unique and personal.
