HYROX sharpens judging standards ahead of 2026 World Championships in Stockholm

With the 2026 World Championships in Stockholm on the horizon, HYROX has once again invested in the quality of its competition organisation. Technical Director Mat Lock offered a behind-the-scenes look at the steps taken to improve the judging process.

A key part of those improvements is the expanded use of video referees (VAR). By making smarter use of camera technology, judges can assess movements more accurately and disputed situations can be resolved faster and more objectively, good news for athletes who give everything to execute their reps cleanly.

In addition, judging standards are being further tightened and unified, so that competitors in Stockholm know exactly what is expected of them regardless of which wave or category they start in. For athletes travelling to Stockholm, this makes it essential to know the movement standards inside out and leave nothing to chance.
