Hyrox World Championships 2027 heading to Hong Kong

19 June 2026, 09:54 (36 days ago) · BurpeeTalk News editorial

Hyrox has announced that the 2027 World Championships will take place in Hong Kong. The event is scheduled for June 10–13, 2027, and will be held at the AsiaWorld-Expo. It marks the first time the global title event has been staged outside of Europe or North America.

The announcement was made during the ongoing World Championships in Stockholm, an occasion Hyrox traditionally uses to reveal the next host city. By choosing Hong Kong, the organization is making a clear bet on further international growth, particularly in the rapidly emerging Asian market.

For Dutch Hyrox athletes with their sights set on the 2027 World Championships, this means a long journey to the Far East. For the most ambitious competitors, however, that is unlikely to be a deterrent: Hong Kong is renowned for its excellent event infrastructure and offers a spectacular backdrop for the biggest Hyrox event in the world.

The choice of Hong Kong fits into Hyrox's broader strategy of diversifying its field of participants. The number of Asian athletes competing at Hyrox events worldwide has grown sharply in recent years, and a World Championships in the region is expected to accelerate that growth even further.
