McIntyre: 'Hyrox is no longer a sport for part-time pros'

Hunter McIntyre, three-time Hyrox world champion, appeared on Jake Dearden's podcast and spoke candidly about the enormous changes within the sport. According to him, Hyrox has become so competitive that you can no longer get away with being a part-time professional athlete.

McIntyre still remembers the days when the organization struggled to get enough athletes to the start line at all. Those days are long gone: the level of competition and the influx of serious contenders have grown explosively in recent years.

The three-time world champion also admitted that he has not yet decided whether he will continue competing at the highest level. The pressure and the required training commitment weigh heavily in that consideration.

For Dutch Hyrox fans, this is a striking statement from one of the most defining names in the sport. Whether McIntyre will be at the start line next season remains, for now, an open question.
