New fitness series XENOM enjoys successful first competition day with 372 finishers

The debut of XENOM, a new hybrid fitness competition announced earlier this year, is now a reality. Last Saturday, the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas, hosted the first official races, with 372 participants crossing the finish line across the individual and doubles categories.

XENOM was founded by Keith Barlow, who launched the competition series in early 2025 after securing fifteen million dollars in seed funding. That funding round was led by investor WndrCo. Also noteworthy is the involvement of Rogue Fitness as the official equipment partner and the series' ties to CrossFit, which immediately lend it credibility within the hybrid sports world.

For Hyrox fans, XENOM is a name worth watching. The series is clearly positioning itself as a serious player in the hybrid fitness events market, a market that Hyrox has largely dominated until now. Whether XENOM will expand to Europe is not yet known, but its ambitious setup and substantial funding suggest the organization has big plans.

With a successful opening day under its belt, XENOM will undoubtedly announce more events. It remains to be seen whether the series can forge its own identity and whether it will ultimately become an alternative or a complement for athletes who currently have their hearts set on Hyrox.
