Hidde Weersma has left triathlon behind and is now fully focused on Hyrox. The former TVS'90 triathlete currently trains around 22 hours per week, combining endurance work, strength training, and race-specific sessions.

Weersma is considered one of the favorites for the upcoming Hyrox World Championship and already holds a world record in the sport.

His story comes at a notable moment: fitness racing is currently being integrated into the international structure of World Triathlon, bringing the two sports closer together.

Transition.nl sat down with Weersma for an in-depth conversation about his transition to Hyrox, the sport's rapid rise, and what triathlon and Hyrox can learn from each other. The full interview is available at transition.nl.
