Rumors about PUMA dropping Wietrzyk are false

Since Thursday, rumors have been circulating that PUMA ended its partnership with Joanna Wietrzyk following the incident at HYROX Beijing. Those reports, however, appear to be inaccurate.

The claim seems to have originated from an article by the Daily Mail, which reported that a joint clothing line by Wietrzyk and PUMA had disappeared from the brand's webshop. Several other media outlets then uncritically picked up the story.

According to Hybrid Fitness Media, there is no evidence that PUMA actually terminated its deal with Wietrzyk. The disappearance of the product page therefore appears to have a different explanation than an official split between the brand and the athlete.

For Dutch Hyrox fans, this is relevant because Wietrzyk is one of the most followed names in the sport. Until there is an official statement from PUMA or Wietrzyk herself, caution with such reports is warranted.
