CrossFit Athlete Council discusses possible changes for 2027 season

The CrossFit Athlete Council (CAC) addressed several topics during a June 11 meeting that could shape the future of the competition format. A central theme was the possible overhaul of the 2027 season structure, including the question of how online qualification rounds would fit into it.
The CAC also examined the rules surrounding Semifinals, covering how athletes qualify, what requirements apply, and how to keep the playing field fair for participants from different regions. Regionality, the importance of geographic representation within the qualification structure, was a recurring point of discussion.
The process of public online reviews, through which athletes and the broader community can weigh in on proposed rule changes, was also on the agenda. The CAC appears keen to strengthen this mechanism in order to create greater transparency with the CrossFit community.
No concrete decisions have been made yet; the discussions remain exploratory. Nevertheless, the meeting offers an interesting glimpse into the direction CrossFit HQ may be considering for the 2027 competition season. Athletes and fans following the Games scene can expect more clarity in the months ahead.
