First Two Events of the 2026 CrossFit Games Revealed

The 2026 CrossFit Games kick off on Wednesday, July 22, and unlike previous years, the opening day will not take place at the SAP Center. Athletes will compete at various locations outside the main arena, promising an adventurous start to the competition.
The first event is the so-called '2007 Hopper,' a workout that dates back to the early days of CrossFit. Athletes begin with a 1,000-meter row, followed by five rounds of 25 pull-ups and seven push jerks. Men will lift a 61 kg barbell, while women will use approximately 38 kg.
The second announced event is called 'Ranch 7200.' Details remain scarce, but the name likely references the legendary CrossFit Ranch, the birthplace of the sport. CrossFit appears to be making a deliberate nod to nostalgia with the 2026 edition.
For Dutch CrossFit fans, the news is particularly exciting as more and more Dutch athletes are finding their way to the Games. The combination of classic workouts and a fresh format outside the arena already makes this edition one to watch.
