Fiebig finally cracks the top 10 at the CrossFit Games

Moritz Fiebig did something this year that had eluded him in four previous appearances at the CrossFit Games: he finished in the top 10. The five-time Games veteran from Germany reached a personal milestone in the process.

One of the biggest changes Fiebig made had nothing to do with his training or nutrition. He traveled to the United States considerably earlier this year, giving his body enough time to recover from jet lag.

In previous years, he would fly in shortly before the competition, with all the consequences that entailed. The jet lag turned out to be a serious factor undermining his performance all along.

It is a lesson other European CrossFitters would do well to take to heart. Anyone crossing the ocean to compete should take the logistics just as seriously as the training preparation.
