Fraser coaches group ahead of CrossFit Games in San Jose

17 July 2026, 14:01 (67 days ago) · BurpeeTalk News editorial

Five-time CrossFit Games champion Mat Fraser has announced on Instagram that he is preparing for the upcoming Games, not as a competitor, but in a coaching role. At his own garage gym, he is training a group of athletes set to compete in San Jose next week.

Fraser, who retired as a professional CrossFit athlete after his last title in 2020, has since been active through his HWPO (Hard Work Pays Off) platform. The post suggests the athletes are training under his guidance.

The CrossFit Games in San Jose are scheduled for next week. Fraser's post does not specify which athletes he is coaching. Those who want to view his original post can find it on his Instagram account @mathewfras.
