Khrennikov on the Ranch run: started too fast, paid the price
Roman Khrennikov shared his experience of the trail run completed at The Ranch during the CrossFit Games. The official Games account published his account.
The run covered 7200 metres, and Khrennikov admitted he went out far too hard. The fast starting pace proved unsustainable, and what began as a sprint ended in a slow, painful slog.
It is a classic mistake in endurance sport, but all the more striking to hear it from an elite athlete. Khrennikov is candid about how quickly things went wrong and how it affected his race.
