Meier turns to neuroathletics after mental struggles on the competition floor

Linda Meier (@lindaaa.jm) has explained via Instagram why neuroathletics is playing an increasingly central role in her preparation. After her last race, she already indicated that stress and mental pressure had affected her performance. Since then, she has been looking beyond purely physical fitness.
The training method focuses on how the brain processes information and how the body responds to it. Meier is working on specific areas such as stability while running, reduced dizziness during burpees, and better focus in the closing rounds of a race.
In practice, it looks rather unusual: pen movements in front of the eyes, balance exercises and visual drills are all on the programme. Not the kind of images most people associate with Hyrox preparation, she admits herself.
Meier works with @tina.neuroathletik for this and emphasises that it is not a replacement for strength or conditioning training. Sometimes the next step in progress is not about getting stronger, but about learning to use existing strength more efficiently, she writes.
