It has now been ten years since Mat Fraser first won the CrossFit Games. The American, who would go on to claim five consecutive titles, looks back on what made him the most dominant athlete in the history of the sport.

Fraser shared ten lessons that guided him throughout his career. Recurring themes include discipline, consistency and the willingness to address your weaknesses rather than avoid them.

For CrossFit fans, it offers an interesting glimpse into the mindset of an athlete who elevated the sport to a higher level. Many of his principles apply to athletes at every level, from beginner to competitive athlete.
