WFP Tour 2 2026: the ultimate guide to Grand Park Pro

26 August 2026, 07:47 (27 days ago) · BurpeeTalk News editorial

Who are the favorites, which workouts are on the schedule and when should you tune in?

From August 28 through 30, Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Indiana serves as the backdrop for the second stop of the World Fitness Project Tour. For many athletes, this weekend is more than a regular competition. It is the last major opportunity to collect enough points to qualify for the World Fitness Finals in Copenhagen.

The start list reads like a who's who of international functional fitness. Former CrossFit Games podium contenders, WFP contract athletes and up-and-coming Challengers meet across seven varied tests designed to expose speed, strength, endurance, gymnastics and pure mental resilience.

Schedule overview: when does each workout take place?

Friday, August 28

Time (Netherlands) | Workout

15:00 - 16:35 | PRO Women Event 1

15:50 - 17:25 | PRO Men Event 1

19:30 - 21:40 | PRO Women Event 2

21:50 - 00:05 | PRO Men Event 2

Event 1 - Combine

The opening test looks like it came straight from the NFL Combine.

  • 40 Yard Dash
  • Pro Agility Shuttle (5-10-5)
  • Max Broad Jump

Explosiveness and athletic ability take center stage. This event rewards the lighter, more athletic competitors above all.

Event 2 - Grand Park Pro 2

  • Sled men: 281 kg
  • Sled women: 199 kg

Time cap:

  • 20 minutes

This is likely the first real differentiator of the weekend. The combination of heavy handstand push-ups and raw sled strength makes this a complete test.

Event 3 - 10 Kilometer Run

  • 10 km run
  • Time cap: 60 minutes

A striking test in a sport traditionally focused more on mixed modal fitness. Pure aerobic capacity is rewarded here.

Event 4 - Max Load Bench Press

  • 1RM Bench Press
  • 8 minutes

No technique. No pacing. Just as much weight on the bar as possible.

Athletes like Chandler Smith, Gui Malheiros and Roman Khrennikov are expected to shine here.

Event 5

2 Rounds For Time

  • 50 Chest-to-Bar Pull-Ups

A classic grinder in which grip, shoulder endurance and leg strength will be decisive.

Sunday, August 30

16:30 - 17:20 | PRO Men Event 6

  • 150 Yard Swim
  • Rest 2 minutes
  • 150 Yard Swim
  • 30/22 Calorie Echo Bike

Time cap:

  • 12 minutes

Perhaps the most unorthodox test of the weekend. Athletes with a swimming background can pick up valuable points here.

Event 7 - Final Workout

For Time

  • 35/25 Calorie Row
  • 25 Bar Muscle-Ups
  • 45 meter Handstand Walk
  • 5 Squat Snatches

Squat Snatch weight:

  • Men: 111 kg
  • Women: 77 kg

Time cap:

  • 9 minutes

The perfect closing piece. Gymnastics, conditioning and heavy Olympic lifting combined in one sprint to the finish.

Men's favorites

Roman Khrennikov

The leader after Tour 1.

The Russian did not win the first WFP season stop, but accumulated the most points and appears to have the most complete package. His combination of strength, work capacity and consistency makes him the man to beat.

Strengths:

  • Bench Press
  • Sled Work
  • Run
  • Snatch

James Sprague

The reigning CrossFit Games champion is only 23 years old but has already reached the elite level.

His athletic profile looks like an excellent fit for Event 1, the run and the final workout.

Strengths:

  • Gymnastics
  • Running
  • Overall consistency

Aniol Ekai

For Dutch and Belgian viewers, perhaps the most compelling contender to follow.

The Spaniard sits fourth in the standings and has developed over the past few years into one of Europe's most complete athletes.

Strengths:

  • Engine
  • Gymnastics
  • Volume workouts

Outsiders

  • Patrick Vellner
  • Jonne Koski
  • Gui Malheiros
  • Chandler Smith
  • Jelle Hoste

Women's favorites

Aimee Cringle

The current number one in the standings.

Cringle collected 594 points during Tour 1 and currently appears to be the most consistent female athlete on the circuit.

Laura Horvath

The former Games champion remains one of the most impressive athletes of her generation.

Particularly the heavier events, such as:

  • Sled flips
  • Sandbag squats
  • Bench press

work in her favor.

Emma Tall

Perhaps the dark horse for overall victory.

Tall finished third after Tour 1 and has the physical qualities to place in the top 10 in virtually every workout.

  • Andrea Solberg
  • Arielle Loewen
  • Sydney Wells
  • Emily Rolfe
  • Sara Sigmundsdóttir
  • Elena Carratalá

European eyes on Grand Park

For European supporters, this could be the strongest WFP event of the year. With names like Laura Horvath, Aniol Ekai, Jelle Hoste, Fabian Beneito, Elena Carratalá, Jonne Koski and Patrick Vellner, European competition is better represented than ever.

The combination of a 10-kilometer run, a max bench press and several technically complex CrossFit tests also makes Grand Park Pro one of the most complete competitions of the season. That is precisely why this second WFP stop could prove decisive in the battle for the overall title and qualification for the Finals in Copenhagen.

As The Times might put it: the athlete with the biggest peak performance will not win. The athlete who gives up the least ground across seven very different tests will. That makes Grand Park Pro perhaps the fairest test of fitness the sport currently has to offer.
