Swimming at CrossFit Games 2026: 25-meter lanes in Morgan Hill

30 June 2026, 10:27 (25 days ago) · BurpeeTalk News editorial

Following the announcement two weeks ago that swimming would return to the CrossFit Games, Castro shared further details in a conversation with Lucy McGonigle. The swimming event will take place in an indoor pool with 25-meter lanes.

The venue is the aquatic center in Morgan Hill, where the Games will be held next year. That means athletes will need to complete multiple lengths, as opposed to an open-water or 50-meter format.

Swimming has traditionally been a challenging event for many CrossFit athletes, and its return in a controlled pool environment makes it all the more compelling. A 25-meter pool demands quick turns and efficient stroke technique, skills not every CrossFitter has readily at their disposal.

Further details on the distance and exact structure of the event have yet to be announced. Athletes and fans following the Games should mark this down as one of the most unusual challenges of 2026.
