Bosman, Feddes, Hensen and Van Huijgevoort compete in Barcelona

While many CrossFit fans remain focused on the major international competitions, one of Europe's most competitive independent events takes place in Barcelona this weekend. At WODcelona 2026, established names and rising talents go head to head in a demanding program of strength, gymnastics and endurance. Dutch representation is substantial.
In the elite men's division, Ole Bosman takes on a strong international field that includes Luka Dukic, Enrico Zenoni and Fabian Beneito. In the elite women's field, Jorien Feddes and Jade Hensen represent the Netherlands against athletes such as Lucy Campbell, Elisa Fuliano and Tuva Bjerkeli. Eugenie van Huijgevoort is also on the start list this weekend.
Ground Zero
The third test of the weekend, Ground Zero, makes it immediately clear what WODcelona demands of its athletes: versatility.
For Time (Time Cap: 12 minutes)
- 5 Iberus Flips (240 kg men / 180 kg women)
- 30 Chest-to-Bar Pull-Ups
- 5 Iberus Flips
- 10 Rope Climbs
- 5 Iberus Flips
- 30 Chest-to-Bar Pull-Ups
- 5 Iberus Flips
The Iberus Flip is one of the most striking elements of the competition, requiring a combination of raw strength and technical efficiency. Combined with rope climbs and chest-to-bar pull-ups, it forms a complete test of grip strength, upper-body strength and work capacity.
Event 4 demands complete athletes
Where Event 3 primarily combines strength and gymnastics, Event 4 forces athletes to switch immediately between conditioning and maximal strength.
Event 4A
For Time (Time Cap: 7 minutes)
- 100 Double Unders
- 20 Dumbbell Box Step Overs (22.5 kg men / 15 kg women)
- 100 Double Unders
- 20 Dumbbell Box Step Overs
- 100 Double Unders
A workout where rhythm and efficient movement are central. Errors on the jump rope can cost valuable seconds.
Event 4B
Build to a Heavy Complex
- 1 Snatch
- 1 Hang Snatch
- 1 Overhead Squat
A technical weightlifting segment follows directly after the conditioning effort. Athletes must not only be strong, but also stay fresh enough to control heavy loads efficiently overhead.
Sunday brings the decisive tests
The final day features another varied program.
Event 5: Homebound
AMRAP 12 minutes
- 9 Bar Muscle-Ups
- 12 Alternating Dumbbell Presses (30 kg)
- 15 Calorie Row
This workout emphasizes gymnastic skill and local muscular endurance. The bar muscle-ups in particular are likely to create significant gaps between specialists and all-rounders.
Event 6: The Reckoning
For Time (Time Cap: 8 minutes)
18-14-10 of:
- Burpees Over the Bar
- Thrusters (60 kg men / 40 kg women)
A classic finisher. Thrusters and burpees have long been one of the sport's most feared combinations, due to the constant demand placed on the legs, shoulders and lungs. With a time cap of just eight minutes, this promises to be an explosive finale.

A strong weekend in Barcelona
With heavy odd objects, Olympic weightlifting, rope climbs, muscle-ups and a sprint-style finale, WODcelona offers a complete picture this weekend of what modern CrossFit demands from its athletes. For the Dutch competitors, it is an opportunity to measure themselves against Europe's top tier and potentially post a strong result at one of the most competitive events outside the official CrossFit season.
