Gabi Migała withdraws from CrossFit Games despite qualifying

17 July 2026, 14:01 (8 days ago) · BurpeeTalk News editorial

Gabi Migała announced via Instagram earlier this month that she is withdrawing from the upcoming CrossFit Games. It is a striking decision, as the Polish athlete did qualify for the prestigious event, something that would have seemed unthinkable just a year ago.

Migała endured a gruelling period, recovering from two separate Achilles tendon injuries, among the most serious setbacks a CrossFit athlete can face. That she nonetheless managed to qualify for the Games, and also won the MAD Fitness Festival 2026, makes her story all the more remarkable.

Yet she is consciously choosing to take a step back. Migała indicated that she is currently focusing on small daily victories in her fitness journey, and that competing at the Games does not fit where she is right now. It is a decision that takes courage, but also reflects a strong sense of self-awareness.

For CrossFit fans across Europe, Migała is a well-known name on the circuit. Her openness about injuries and recovery has earned her a loyal following, and many will understand her choice while looking forward to her return when the time is right.
